To create a new email creative, simply click the menu item from the left-hand navigation menu. Once you access the creative setup page, you will see a list of any previously defined creatives. In order to add a new creative , click the at the top of this page, which will display the Add Creative form as depicted below.
Each input on the Add Creative form will have a icon next to it. Clicking this icon will provide in-line help regarding that item.
The fields for adding a new creative are as follows:
- Creative Name
Unique name you would like to assign to this email creative to remember it by.
- From Line
Name you would like to use as From Line, not including anything after the @ sign. For instance, if your company name is Acme Computers, you might want to use "Acme Computers" as your from line.
- Subject Line
Indicates the subject line to send the email creative with. An example subject line would be "Save 25% By Ordering Now".
- Creative Type
Indicates the type of email creative. There are two options for email creatives: HTML or Text. The majority of clients leverage HTML creatives as they allow images and full layout control, but Text creatives are also permitted.
Paste your HTML or Text creative here, based on the Creative Type you select.
If you are using an HTML creative and it contains images or other resources which are hosted on your local computer and not on an external web site, click the button to upload these local resources for use in your creative.
Once you have defined the fields above for your creative, click the button to add your new creative.
When you submit a new creative, you will automatically be shown the email creative proofing page to review your creative. This will allow you to review the final creative, send a test message, and submit your creative for administrative review.
Once you have added a new creative, it will automatically be added to the list of creatives at the top of the page as in this example.
Creatives which have not been submitted for approval by you will have a "Draft" status. Only creatives with an "Active" status are eligible for use in an email campaign.
For creatives which have not been approved, you may click the icon next to the creative name in order to edit it. You can also click the icon to proof the creative. And finally, you can click the icon to create a copy of a creative.
It is important to note that only active creatives will be used in a campaign. A creative is only active once it has been submitted for approval from the email creative proofing page and approved by and administrator.
